The Top Performers From Last Week in Minor League Baseball (7/7-7/13)
A look into the top performers from each level of the minor leagues last week. From top 100 prospects to under-the-radar players who got hot.

After a star-studded showing last week from some of our top prospects and Minor League players everywhere, this past week was arguably even better. With this being the last week before the All-Star break, players gave it their all, knowing they’d have a little while to rest after Sunday’s game.
Unfortunately, some of our top 100 prospects weren’t seen on the field all week long, as many of them participated in the All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta on Saturday. Despite this, they still made their presence known before they traveled for the game.
Triple-A Top Performers
This week in Triple-A, the New York Mets dominated all cylinders. The Triple-A group of players also consists of two of our top 100 prospects, showing the strength of this week’s Triple-A players. As we keep pushing towards the end of the month, these performances could be impactful as the trade deadline approaches.
With these players being some of the most talented minor league prospects, the Triple-A portion of this week’s recap is one of the best yet.
Let’s dive into these three players.
Samuel Basallo, C, Baltimore Orioles
Last Week: 5 G, 18 AB, 7 H, 3 HR, 10 RBI, .389/.500/1.056, 1.556 OPS
When looking for an exciting minor league catcher with a ton of power in their bat, you don’t have to search much further than our number nine prospect, Samuel Basallo. I mentioned in the introduction for this portion that these performances will have a huge implication on the trade deadline, and Basallo is one of the players who is most affected.
Last week, Basallo slugged three homers en route to a 1.556 OPS. His OPS led all hitters in the International League, an impressive mark.
Basallo is pushing himself closer and closer to the major leagues by the day, and weeks like this will be a big reason why.
Francisco Alvarez, C, New York Mets
Last Week: 6 G, 23 AB, 8 H, 6 HR, 10 RBI, .348/.423/.957, 1.380 OPS
After really struggling during the first half of the 2025 MLB season, the Mets decided to option catcher Francisco Alvarez back to Triple-A. He’s quickly proven that he’s ready to return to the big leagues, with last week featuring some amazing games.
Last week, Alvarez hit six homers and drove in 10 runs in just six games, an impressive number. In fact, these six homers were the most we’ve ever seen a player hit in a week during the time we’ve done these stories.
For Alvarez, this week was huge, as he tries to slug his way back to the big leagues.
Nolan McLean, RHP, New York Mets
Last Week: 1 GS, 6 IP, 10 Ks, 3 BB, 0.00 ERA
Alvarez wasn’t the only New York Met who posted amazing numbers last week, as his batterymate, Nolan McLean, also put together a very good showing. McLean, a former two-way prospect, has settled in since becoming a pitcher only.
In his start last week, McLean pitched six scoreless innings while striking out 10 batters, the second time he’s done so this season, as well as this month.
McLean, our number 37 prospect, could be called up very soon with how he’s pitched as of late.
Double-A Top Performers
The Mets didn’t just dominate the Triple-A portion of this week’s story, but they also did well in Double-A, as they had another top prospect make an appearance. We also have a player in this portion who was featured last week, which is pretty exciting.
This section featured one of the best single-player pitching appearances on this list as well, something that’s very impressive.
Jett Williams, SS, New York Mets
Last Week: 6 G, 26 AB, 10 H, 2 HR, 5 RBI, .385/.448/.769, 1.217 OPS
Jett Williams, a former first-round pick by the New York Mets, marks the third straight Met to be mentioned in this story. After being promoted to Double-A, he’s continued to flat-out rake.
Williams played in all six games last week, recording ten hits and hitting two homers. He also recorded a 1.217 OPS despite not hitting many homers, a huge testament to his game.
While Williams is currently ranked as our number 42 prospect on our top 100, I’d expect him to be a big riser if he continues to hit as he has lately.
Sam Brown, 1B, Los Angeles Angels
Last Week: 5 G, 18 AB, 8 H, 1 HR, 6 RBI, .444/.565/.833, 1.398 OPS
After a very good showing this week in Double-A, first baseman Sam Brown is beginning to create some buzz around his name. After entering professional baseball last season, he’s struggled to get going, but this week, that changed.
In five games last week, Brown hit over .440 with an OPS near 1.400, some of the best numbers for hitters in the Southern League.
Brown’s season OPS is now up to .717 after his showing last week.
Kendry Rojas, LHP, Toronto Blue Jays
Last Week: 1 GS, 5 IP, 10 Ks, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Kendry Rojas made his way onto last week’s Minor League update during a rehab start, and this week, he’s back at full health and still looks very good.
In his start for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats last week, Rojas went five scoreless innings, striking out 10 batters and allowing zero walks. This is a step forward from his start last week, where he allowed two walks while striking out nine batters.
Rojas was named on our Blue Jays preseason top 15, and with how he’s pitched lately, look for him to fly up our next update.
High-A Top Performers
For the second straight week, there’s been a combined perfect game in the minor leagues, and it came from the High-A level. With two Pittsburgh Pirates in this portion, this marks the second straight week they’ve had two players in this section.
This is also the first time a Minnesota Twin is appearing on this list, a notable accomplishment for the organization.
P.J. Hilson, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates
Last Week: 5 G, 20 AB, 8 H, 3 HR, 5 RBI, .400/.429/.950, 1.379 OPS
After returning to Greensboro for a second straight season, outfielder P.J. Hilson knew he had something to prove. Since the season began, Hilson has been much better than he was last season.
This week, Hilson hit three homers in five games, while also posting an OPS of 1.379. Not only was he one of the best hitters in Low-A, but Hilson also made a phenomenal home run-robbing catch in center field.
With Hilson’s OPS now sitting nearly .100 points higher than his number last season, look for him to be promoted to Double-A very soon.
Caden Kendle, OF, Minnesota Twins
Last Week: 5 G, 19 AB, 10 H, 2 HR, 4 RBI, .526/.571/.1.053, 1.624 OPS
After being a fifth-round pick in last year’s MLB Draft, Caden Kendle has been a solid hitter to this point in his career. After posting interesting numbers last week, Kendle is beginning to look a lot better.
In five games last week, Kendle recorded 10 hits, and two homers, while being the only hitter on this week’s update to record a batting average over .500! He also posted a pretty high OPS over 1.600, an impressive showing for the 23-year-old.
After this, Kendle is trending towards a promotion if he continues to hit at this rate.
The Greensboro Grasshoppers’ Entire Pitching Staff
Last Week: 1 GS, 9 IP, 7 Ks, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Prior to their combined perfect game two weeks ago, there hadn’t been a nine-inning perfect game outside of the complex leagues since 2017. The Greensboro Grasshoppers not only ended this drought, but they repeated the rare feat again last week!
This week, the perfect game was thrown between four arms: Hung-Leng Chang, Joshua Loeschorn, Jake Shrink, and Jarod Bayless. The only pitcher from this group to appear in both perfect games was Jake Shrink, making these achievements a memorable experience for the whole roster.
Given the rarity and nature of these two perfect games, it didn’t feel right to highlight just one of these four players. This couldn’t have been done without help from all of these players, and it felt right to recognize them all.
Low-A Top Performers
This week’s Low-A top performers mark the second straight week we’ve had a Brewer make an appearance in this section, which isn’t surprising considering the strength of their farm system.
The other two players here come from the Florida State League, one of the best Low-A leagues there is.
Braylon Payne, OF, Milwaukee Brewers
Last Week: 4 G, 14 AB, 6 H, 2 HR, 4 RBI, .429/.579/.929, 1.508 OPS
After being a massive under-slot selection for the Milwaukee Brewers in last year’s MLB Draft, many people weren’t sure what to think of Payne’s future. However, in his first full professional season, he’s raked, showing people the type of player he can be.
Last week, Payne made a huge impact in the four games he played. He nearly recorded hits in half of his at-bats, while also reaching base at a clip near .600. Payne is still just 18 years old, making this level of production even more impressive.
He’s one of the more underrated players on the loaded Carolina Mudcats roster, and he seems to be settling in nicely as the season advances.
Raudi Rodriguez, OF, Los Angeles Angels
Last Week: 6 G, 25 AB, 8 H, 4 HR, 6 RBI, .320/.414/.920, 1.334 OPS
Sam Brown wasn’t the only member of the Angels to take on Minor League pitching in a big way last week, as 22-year-old prospect Raudi Rodriguez also had a fantastic showing.
In all six games last week, Raudi recorded eight hits with half of them being home runs. Rodriguez was one of just two players in this week’s story to hit four or more homers, which shows just how good he was.
Rodriguez is hitting pretty well overall in his first taste of Low-A baseball this season, and he could be looking at a promotion before much longer if he keeps this up.
Braden Davis, LHP, St. Louis Cardinals
Last Week: 1 GS, 6 IP, 11 Ks, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
The final player on this week’s edition of our Minor League check-in is Cardinals’ left-handed pitcher Braden Davis. Davis, a former fifth-rounder, is in his first taste of professional baseball, and he looks solid so far.
During his start last week, Davis pitched six innings of scoreless baseball, striking out the most batters of anyone on this list. He also walked just one batter, putting up a solid showing overall.
His ERA in Low-A is now 3.26, as he’s also struck out nearly 100 batters in just 69 innings so far this season. He could become one of the organization’s top prospects before much longer.
The Top Performers From Last Week in Minor League Baseball (7/1-7/6)
As the season continues, it feels like every week we get better and better performances out of the Minor Leagues! This past week, we saw a perfect game, a few multi-homer games, along with really good performances overall.
Although it was the week of the Fourth of July, the holiday wasn’t the only reason we saw them, as the performances across the minors brought some explosions as well. This week, we saw a lot of amazing performances from both our top 100 prospects and unranked players, both playing a huge role in the future outlooks of each organization.
Triple-A Top Performers
This week’s Triple-A performances were full of noteworthy names, with a few top prospects having really solid weeks overall. Out of the names we highlighted, one top 100 prospect made it into this section, with the other two names being solid prospects despite not being ranked.
As we inch closer to deadline day, it’ll also be interesting to see how these performances impact the moves we’ll see at month’s end. Especially because the top 100 prospect featured in this section has been one of the hottest names in deadline discussions.
Let’s meet our players and dive into how they did this past week.
Owen Caissie, OF, Chicago Cubs
Last Week: 5 G, 21 AB, 10 H, 4 HR, 6 RBI, .476/.560/1.143, 1.703 OPS
Over the last week or so, the Chicago Cubs have been a hot team in trade discussions, as the team looks to add a starting pitcher at this year’s deadline. One of the key return pieces that’s been thrown around is Cubs outfielder and member of our top 100, Owen Caissie.
At the height of the trade discussions, Caissie blocked out the noise, put his head down, and played one of the best weeks of his career. He nearly hit .500 reaching base at a .560 clip. He also did this while hitting four homers between two multi-homer games.
Whether or not he’ll be traded is a question we’ll see addressed in the coming weeks. Regardless, the week Caissie had inched him closer to making his MLB Debut later this year.
Braxton Fulford, C, Colorado Rockies
Last Week: 4 G, 15 AB, 7 H, 4 HR, 7 RBI, .467/.529/1.267, 1.796 OPS
Braxton Fulford, a Texas Tech standout, has been putting together a pretty solid season in Triple-A with the Albuquerque Isotopes. This only continued last week, as Fulford had one of the best stretches of his career.
In just four games, Fulford hit four homers, posted an OPS just shy of 1.800, all while reaching base at a clip over .500. For any player, this is an impressive feat, but especially for a 26-year-old looking to make his way back into MLB.
Fulford made his debut earlier this season, and if he continues to hit like this, he’ll be back in the MLB mix in no time at all.
Parker Messick, LHP, Cleveland Guardians
Last Week: 1 GS, 7 IP, 9 Ks, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
After pitching very well in Double-A Akron for the Cleveland Guardians last summer, the team elected to promote him to Triple-A to start the season. Since moving up the chain, Messick has continued his dominance, showcasing this with his start last week.
In his start, Messick threw seven shutout innings, walking just one batter and striking out nine in the process. After this start, Messick lowered his season ERA to 3.36, a very respectable mark overall.
Messick was named on our Guardians’ top 15 prospects list prior to the season, and with outings like this, he could keep climbing up the list with later updates this season.
Double-A Top Performers
Unlike the other levels we cover in these weekly recaps, the Double-A portion of this story features two of our top 100 prospects. Not only this but for our pitcher, this is his second time appearing in one of these stories, as he’s been one of the hottest names in the minors this season.
Also, one of the players featured in this section hit five homers this week, the only player in this story to do so.
Let’s take a deeper look into these three players.
Zach Cole, OF, Houston Astros
Last Week: 6 G, 26 AB, 7 H, 5 HR, 11 RBI, .269/.321/.885, 1.206 OPS
When looking for a player who had a huge power surge this week in Double-A, you don’t have to search much further than Astros prospect Zach Cole. Cole hit the most homers of any player featured on this list last week, an impressive accomplishment.
Cole’s power surge is mainly what landed him on this list, as he homered five times in just six games. In fact, he only recorded seven hits total last week, meaning almost all of his hits were homers.
2025 is Cole’s second year at Double-A as he looks to continue moving up the Astros’ system by the end of the season.
Cooper Ingle, C, Cleveland Guardians
Last Week: 4 G, 17 AB, 7 H, 2 HR, 2 RBI, .412/.444/.882, 1.326 OPS
If you paid any attention to Twitter at all last week, you may have seen Aram Leighton’s post about Cooper Ingle being one of the most underrated prospects in the sport. Currently ranked number 55 on our top 100, it’s easy to see why with how he played last week.
In just four games, Ingle hit two homers, recorded seven hits, and posted an OPS over 1.300. The Guardians have often been known for their player development, and Ingle might just be one of the least-known top prospects they’ve produced.
However, if Ingle continues to hit like this, he won’t go unnoticed much longer.
Jonah Tong, RHP, New York Mets
Last Week: 1 GS, 5.2 IP, 10 Ks, 2 BB, 3.18 ERA
Two weeks ago, Jonah Tong made his first appearance on one of these updates, as he had pitched one of his best games of the season. In that update, I mentioned how Tong appears to be this year’s breakout Minor League pitcher, and he continues to make this more and more true every start he has.
In his most recent start, Tong pitched 5.2 innings to a 3.18 ERA, while striking out 10 batters once again. This was his fifth start of the season with double-digit strikeouts, marking another successful start in his great season.
With every start he makes, it appears like our number 69 prospect is coming closer and closer to earning his Triple-A promotion, as he continues to be one of the best pitching prospects in baseball this season.
High-A Top Performers
This week was a very historic week for the High-A level, as we saw history made with the Greensboro Grasshoppers throwing the first non-complex, nine-inning perfect game since 2017. These things don’t happen often, so to see such a cool achievement occur this week was very cool.
While the starting pitcher for that game will be highlighted in this section, we have no top 100 members for the first time in this story. Despite this, we saw some very good games from the three players highlighted.
Let’s dive in.
Eddie Micheletti, OF, Toronto Blue Jays
Last Week: 6 G, 22 AB, 11 H, 3 HR, 7 RBI, .500/.520/1.000, 1.520 OPS
Recently, the Toronto Blue Jays have found a lot of success through the MLB Draft, and another one of these bright spots appears to be in Eddie Micheletti. Drafted just last year, Micheletti is already in High-A, as he’s had a solid season overall.
Last week, Micheletti recorded hits in exactly half of his at-bats, as he also blasted three homers and drove in seven runs in the process. Due to this, his OPS climbed up over 1.500, an impressive number.
As he continues to make a name for himself in his first full season of professional baseball, weeks like these will help him greatly along his journey.
Blake Robertson, 1B, Tampa Bay Rays
Last Week: 5 G, 14 AB, 7 H, 0 HR, 3 RBI, .500/.696/.571, 1.267 OPS
When looking for a player who posted an incredibly high on-base percentage last week, look no further than Rays prospect Blake Robertson. While he had just 14 at-bats last week, his offensive presence made a huge impact on the team’s lineup.
Robertson walked an astounding eight times in just five games, boosting his OBP to nearly .700! In the three weeks we’ve done this story, this is the highest OBP we’ve seen. He also hit, though, as he recorded seven hits in these 14 at-bats.
As we continue updating these every week, it’ll be interesting to see if Robertson’s OBP crown is ever topped.
Khristian Curtis, RHP, Pittsburgh Pirates
Last Week: 1 GS, 6 IP, 10 Ks, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Arguably, the storyline of the Minor Leagues last week came in Aberdeen, Maryland, where the Greensboro Grasshoppers threw the first non-complex, nine-inning perfect game since 2017. What makes this game even more impressive is that it was a combined perfect game. However, it couldn’t have been done without the game’s starter, Khristian Curtis.
In his start, Curtis threw six innings of perfect baseball, striking out ten batters across this span as well. His bullpen was then able to finish the job for him, topping off an incredible start for the 23-year-old.
For the Pittsburgh Pirates, the story of their system has been their pitching development, and Curtis seems like another hidden gem on the way.
Low-A Top Performers
This week in Low-A, we saw a lot of really impressive performances from some non-top 100 players once again. All three players recognized from Low-A were also from the National League, as the Rockies and Pirates both have their second players of the story featured in this section.
Low-A can be home to some wild games, but overall we’ve been seeing better and better baseball played at this level over the last few seasons. It’ll be interesting to keep an eye on these three players to see if they’ll appear back here next week.
Let’s meet our final three players.
Edward Florentino, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates
Last Week: 4 G, 15 AB, 7 H, 4 HR, 7 RBI, .467/.529/1.267, 1.796 OPS
The Pittsburgh Pirates have another young prospect featured in this week’s Minor League check-in, as Edward Florentino continued his dominance this season with a big week. While he didn’t throw a perfect game like Curtis, he was still very good.
Florentino, still just 18 years old, just had the best week of his professional career to this point. In four games, he hit four homers while recording an OPS near 1.800, an incredible feat for anyone, let alone a teenager.
The Pirates desperately need some offensive help right now, and if Florentino can continue this hot stretch, fans can have some faith that help is on the way.
Robert Calaz, OF, Colorado Rockies
Last Week: 6 G, 21 AB, 9 H, 4 HR, 8 RBI, .429/.480/1.048, 1.528 OPS
Similarly to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Colorado Rockies have their second appearance on this week’s update. Their second player is Robert Calaz, a 19-year-old outfielder.
Calaz was very good in all six games he played last week. He was one of a few players to experience a power surge, hitting four homers in this span, while also driving in eight runs. He also slugged over 1.000, something you don’t see all that often.
While he’s had just over 200 plate appearances this year, Calaz has been very good all season long. If he keeps this up, he could begin to create some hype around his name.
Ethan Flanagan, LHP, Chicago Cubs
Last Week: 1 GS, 6 IP, 9 Ks, 2 BB, 0.00 ERA
The Chicago Cubs’ farm system was home to one of the better starts by a left-hander in the minors last week, as lefty Ethan Flanagan put together a very nice game overall.
In his start, the 23-year-old went six innings, struck out nine batters, while walking just two and allowing zero runs. He’s been utterly dominant this year, recording a 1.57 ERA in five starts.
The Cubs are in search of arms, and although he’s in Low-A, fans could always use an exciting arm to point to in the system. With time, maybe Flanagan could be the next piece.
The Top Performers From in Minor League Baseball Week of: (6/24-6/30)
So far this season, the Minor Leagues have featured some tremendous performances, and this week followed the same trend. We had multiple pitchers throw gems on the mound, hitters slugging home runs left and right, and some stellar plays all across the diamond.
For fans across the league, these performances should give them hope for the future, as these are their future big leaguers. Players on our top 100 prospects list won’t be the only current minor leaguers to play a key role in their future big league clubs, and this week’s performances reinforced this idea.
Let’s meet these players.
Triple-A Top Performers
This week’s Triple-A games featured a lot of really exciting performances, but it was hard to find many that surpassed the names we selected. One of our players had two multi-homer contests, while our starting pitcher threw a really good game out on the mound.
Something else interesting to note, is that none of the three players we featured in Triple-A are currently ranked on our top 100, making these performances even more interesting. You never know who could break through, and play very good baseball over a week.
Let’s take a closer look at these three players.
Colson Montgomery, SS, Chicago White Sox
Last Week: 5 G, 22 AB, 11 H, 4 HR, 8 RBI, .500/.522/1.227, 1.749 OPS
Colson Montgomery, once one of the most prized pieces of the White Sox’s farm system, has gone through some serious struggles over the last year. He returned to Triple-A this year, marking his second season at the level. Last week, though, Montgomery looked comfortable at the dish, as he had one of the best weeks of his career.
Last week, Montgomery had two multi-homer games, a feat not often accomplished. He also did this while hitting .500 across the week, recording 11 hits in 22 trips to the plate. Montgomery was also named MiLB’s hitter of the week for the International League.
While Montgomery still has plenty of adjustments to make before he’s ready for his debut, this week was a good reminder of the type of player he can be. If this continues, he could get back on track to being a top prospect once again.
Carlos Cortes, LF, Athletics
Last Week: 6 G, 23 AB, 14 H, 4 HR, 13 RBI, .609/.643/.1.261, 1.904 OPS
Carlos Cortes is the definition of a minor league grinder, as he’s been slowly traveling across the minors since 2018. Not only this, but he’s spent the last four seasons in Triple-A, waiting for his crack at the big leagues. While this hasn’t come yet, his monster last week may help his process along.
Out of all the 12 players featured in this story, Carlos Cortes has the best numbers by a good margin. He’s the only player featured this week to record a batting average above .600, while also being the only player with an on-base percentage above .610. He also has the highest OPS out of all hitters featured.
Cortes was another recipient of the MiLB Player of the Week title, an honor he deserved without a doubt. As he continues to search for his shot in MLB, weeks like this will help him tremendously.
Emmet Sheehan, RHP, Los Angeles Dodgers
Last Week: 1 GS, 6 IP, 13 Ks, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
The last year has been a whirlwind for Dodgers righty Emmet Sheehan. After breaking onto the MLB scene in the 2023 season, he missed the next year after undergoing Tommy John surgery. However, since recovering, he’s been carving up hitters in Triple-A.
Sheehan made one start last week, but it was a very good one. He went six innings, striking out 13 batters and allowing no free passes. Although it’s been just 17.1 innings, Sheehan is currently striking out over 50% of batters in Triple-A!
Moments like this allow us to see just what made him a top prospect a few years ago, and what could eventually propel him into the Dodgers’ rotation. While we’ll have to await his next MLB call-up, this start certainly helped his odds.
Double-A Top Performers
Just like our top Triple-A performers, our top Double-A players came from some unexpected players. Only one of the three players highlighted here is currently ranked on our top 100, and he’s ranked near the bottom of the list. The other two performances came from an unranked prospect and a minor league journeyman.
Despite their prospect rankings, all three of these players had huge weeks and deserve some credit because of it. Also, all three players come from the American League, showing the depth those teams possess.
Let’s dive in.
Colton Ledbetter, OF, Tampa Bay Rays
Last Week: 6 G, 23 AB, 12 H, 1 HR, 4 RBI, .522/.607/.783, 1.390 OPS
For years, the Tampa Bay Rays have pumped out some very solid MLB talent through their farm system, and it looks like they’ve got another one of these players in outfielder Colton Ledbetter.
The former second-round pick is coming off a fantastic six-game stretch, where he slugged nearly .800. He did this while hitting safely in over half of his at-bats last week, an impressive feat overall.
Ledbetter was named as a prospect who just missed our Rays’ Top 15 list, but if he keeps hitting like this, he could make his way onto the list with the next update.
Travis Blankenhorn, RF, Los Angeles Angels
Last Week: 6 G, 23 AB, 7 H, 5 HR, 9 RBI, .304/.360/.1.000, 1.360 OPS
Similarly to Carlos Cortes, journeyman Travis Blankenhorn is coming off a fantastic stretch with the Rocket City Trash Pandas. He’s currently working his way back through the lower minors, and it shouldn’t be long before he’s back in Triple-A.
Last week, Blankenhorn hit an astounding five home runs in just six games, making him the leader in homers for the players featured in this week’s story. This led him to slug 1.000 across the week, a number you don’t see very often.
It’s not often you see a player hit for this much power across a six-game stretch, so when you do, it’s important to truly appreciate it. As Blankenhorn looks to move back through the minor leagues, weeks like this will help his journey out tremendously.
Trey Yesavage, RHP, Toronto Blue Jays
Last Week: 1 GS, 5 IP, 8 Ks, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
After being selected in the first round of last year’s MLB Draft, right-hander Trey Yesavage has been flying through the minor leagues. He began the year in Low-A but has since made it all the way to Double-A, pitching great at each level.
This only continued last week, when Yesavage put together one of the cleaner starts in the minors. He pitched five innings, striking out eight batters, walking just one batter, and allowing zero earned runs in the process.
This start helped lower his ERA to 2.45 across all three minor league levels. Although he’s currently ranked as just our 92nd-best prospect, he could climb the list with the next update.
High-A Top Performers
High-A is where things begin to really get interesting, as this group of players is intriguing overall. Konnor Griffin, arguably MiLB’s top performer this season, had another big week, landing him on this list. The other two prospects featured have also put together nice seasons, potentially leading to a prospect ranking in the near future.
These three players weren’t the only three High-A players to put together really solid weeks, which made choosing our three players even more difficult than usual. However, the three players we chose all had fantastic weeks.
Let’s meet these young stars and dive into what made their performances so notable.
Konnor Griffin, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates
Last Week: 6 G, 19 AB, 7 H, 1 HR, 2 RBI, .368/.500/.525, 1.026 OPS
One of the key stories this minor league season has been the success of the Pirates’ former first-rounder Konnor Griffin, as he looks better and better every game he plays. At just 19 years old, there’s a very good chance he could be regarded as the best prospect in baseball here soon.
His tremendous minor league campaign continued last week, when Griffin posted an on-base percentage of .500, while also hitting his first High-A home run. He also finished off an impressive feat, as he reached base safely in every single June game he played.
While Griffin is still incredibly young, it’s hard to find a minor leaguer who’s having a better season than he is right now.
Alexander Vargas, SS, New York Yankees
Last Week: 6 G, 22 AB, 12 H, 1 HR, 3 RBI, .545/.565/.727, 1.292 OPS
The New York Yankees have had quite the buzz around their farm system lately, as many of their young players have performed well this season. After the week he just had, another member of their farm system, Alexander Vargas, deserves some praise.
Across six games last week, Vargas slashed an impressive .545/.565/.727, as he was a tough out all week. Given how Vargas has struggled at times over the last few seasons, this was really great to see.
He’s currently in High-A with the Hudson Valley Renegades but has made it up to Double-A with the Yankees in the past. If he continues to slug in High-A, he could be on his way back any day now.
Konner Eaton, LHP, Colorado Rockies
Last Week: 1 GS, 6 IP, 11 Ks, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
When it comes to the Colorado Rockies and their pitchers, the relationship has often been a negative one at best. However, one of their minor league arms, Konner Eaton, just had one of the best starts by a left-hander in the minors last week.
In his start, Eaton went six innings, striking out 11 batters, allowing just one free pass and zero earned runs in the process. This start marked the second outing in a row where Eaton had struck out 11 batters, both tying his career-high mark for strikeouts in a game.
Eaton has quietly been one of the better arms in the Rockies’ system this season, as he’s maintained a 3.61 ERA in 77.1 innings. With the lack of quality pitching in the system, he could be seeing Double-A very soon.
Low-A Top Performers
Low-A this past week featured many players worthy of recognition, but we eventually settled on some of the hottest players in the lower minors to feature. Just like High-A, one of arguably the best prospects in the minors cracked the list, as Luis Pena dominated once again.
We also saw a rehabbing player make his way onto this list for the first time this season, as Kendry Rojas put together an impressive game on the mound. Another interesting note, neither of the hitters featured here hit home runs this week, despite crushing the ball overall.
Let’s take a closer look at the top Low-A performers from last week’s contests.
Luis Pena, SS, Milwaukee Brewers
Last Week: 5 G, 20 AB, 8 H, 0 HR, 4 RBI, .400/.520/.600, 1.120 OPS
Similarly to Konnor Griffin, Luis Pena has been one of the most talked-about prospects across the minor leagues this season. At just 18 years old, he’s already flashed the tools needed to be considered baseball’s number one prospect.
Last week, Pena’s impressive season continued over the five games he played. In this span, he reached base at a clip above .500, an impressive mark for anyone, let alone a teenager. While he didn’t blast any homers, the hit tool remained extremely impressive.
Pena, our 12th-ranked prospect, continues to look more and more ready for High-A with every game that passes. He’s now up to a 145 wRC+ this season at High-A, thanks to his big week.
Dylan Fien, C, Athletics
Last Week: 6 G, 24 AB, 12 H, 0 HR, 7 RBI, .500/.519/.792, 1.311 OPS
After having a player featured in the Triple-A portion of this story, the Athletics had another top performer, Dylan Fien, in Low-A. The 19-year-old catcher has put together a nice season at Low-A, which continued this past week.
Across six games, Fien slashed .500/.519/.792, registering an OPS above 1.300 in the process. While he didn’t put any balls out of the ballpark, Fien still delivered, driving in 7 runners as well.
Due to his production, Fien deserves to be recognized as one of the top minor league performers last week. If he keeps this up, we could see him become one of the better catchers in the A’s system.
Kendry Rojas, LHP, Toronto Blue Jays
Last Week: 1 GS, 5 IP, 9 Ks, 2 BB, 0.00 ERA
Trey Yesavage wasn’t the only Blue Jays starting pitcher to have a big week, as left-hander Kendry Rojas made his presence known during his rehab outing in Low-A.
The 22-year-old pitched five scoreless outings in this rehab start, striking out nine and walking just two batters in the process. As he builds back up from his injury, he could become a very intriguing piece of the team’s farm system.
Although it was only a rehab outing, Rojas flashed some very good stuff during his outing. He was ranked as our eighth-best prospect earlier this season, and if he continues to pitch like this, expect him to keep climbing in our rankings.
The Top Performers From in Minor League Baseball Week of: (6/16-6/22)
Of the 12 players we’ll feature in this week’s recap of the minor leagues, just four of these players are currently ranked inside our top 100, showing the depth of the minor leagues so far this season.
You truly never know what you’re going to get from different players, and this week was a perfect reflection of this.
Without further ado, let’s dive into this week’s top performers in the minor leagues.
Triple-A Top Performers
This week, the Triple-A level saw a lot of key performances, with many notable names at the top of the stat leaderboards. Of the three names we selected, one of these players is currently in our top 100, with the other two players being former big leaguers.
With all three of these players just a step away from the Major Leagues, you truly never know when these monster weeks will propel them toward another shot in the big leagues. With that in consideration, these performances are even more important than they may seem.
Let’s meet these three players.
Chase Delauter, RF, Cleveland Guardians
Last Week: 5 G, 17 AB, 7 H, 2 HR, 7 RBI, .412/.476/.824, 1.300 OPS
Although Chase Delauter has a high pedigree due to his first-round selection and ranking as our number 36 overall prospect, the last few seasons have been tougher for the left-hander. He’s dealt with injuries, which have kept him away from maximizing his potential.
However, this season, Delauter is back on track to becoming a future star.
This past week, Delauter played truly excellent baseball, slugging two homers in 17 at-bats, handling good pitching every step of the way. Delauter’s Columbus Clippers played the Indianapolis Indians, the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, who have a very good pitching staff all around, so to see him handle this with ease is encouraging.
Due to this success, it’s important to recognize our No. 36 prospect as one of the standout performers this week in the minor leagues.
Tobias Myers, SP, Milwaukee Brewers
Last Week: 2 GS, 11 IP, 10 Ks, 2 BBs, 0.00 ERA
After covering 138 MLB innings for the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3.00 ERA last season, the future looked bright for Tobias Myers. However, he struggled early this season, which earned him a demotion to Triple-A. Despite this, Myers is making the most of his starts, and he showcased this over the last week.
Myers made two starts for the Nashville Sounds, where he allowed no runs, striking out 10 batters over the 11 innings he threw. For the right-hander, this was a great sign to see as he works towards getting back on track.
With the Brewers needing pitching help, performances like these could land him back in MLB before we know it.
Jose Fermin, 2B, St. Louis Cardinals
Last Week: 5 G, 20 AB, 11 H, 2 HR, 9 RBI, .550/.583/.1.050, 1.633 OPS
Jose Fermin, another former big leaguer, had a truly incredible week at the plate last week. When looking for the top performers across the minor leagues last week, it was hard to find a better hitter than Jose Fermin.
As he looks to work his way back to the major leagues, Fermin reached base at nearly a .600 clip last week, a number that feels straight out of a video game. He’s had a great year so far, as his 147 season wRC+ has been very encouraging for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Watch out, because if Fermin continues to rake like this, he’ll be back in MLB very soon.
Double-A Top Performers
While this week’s top Double-A performers don’t consist of any former MLB talent, this group of players is loaded. We have a former first-round pick, a member of our top 100, and another rising star as our top performers of the week.
All three of these players have had pretty good years, as they look to continue climbing the minor leagues, in hopes of impacting their big league teams as soon as possible.
Let’s dive into our three Double-A top performers last week.
Spencer Jones, OF, New York Yankees

Last Week: 6 G, 21 AB, 10 H, 3 HR, 8 RBI, .476/.607/.952, 1.559 OPS
After beginning the 2025 season at Double-A once again due to some concerns in his game, Spencer Jones has worked very hard to erase these concerns and prove that he’s still the hitter that the Yankees expected him to be when they selected him in the first round back in 2022.
Last week, Jones showcased his elite power first and foremost, as he hit three homers in just 21 at-bats. Out of all the minor leaguers featured in this story, this ties him with a few other hitters for the second-most hits this past week. Not only this, but he reached base at a clip over .600.
Jones still has a little way to go before he’s ready for the big leagues, but he looks closer and closer to being ready for his Triple-A promotion.
Hector Rodriguez, OF, Cincinnati Reds
Last Week: 7 G, 30 AB, 17 H, 3 HR, 6 RBI, .567/.606/.1.033, 1.639 OPS
After being dealt to the Cincinnati Reds from the New York Mets back in 2022, outfielder Hector Rodriguez has slowly become a very interesting young hitter. Last week, he reinforced this idea, as he was one of the better performers across the minor leagues.
During his 30 at-bats last week, Rodriguez recorded 17 hits, three of which were home runs. This led him to record an on-base percentage of over .600, a very good number. Rodriguez also led the Southern League in OPS last week.
Rodriguez was featured as a prospect who just missed the most recent edition of Aram Leighton’s Cincinnati Reds’ top 15 prospects list, and if he continues to play like this, he may land on the top 100 list after the next update.
Jonah Tong, SP, New York Mets
Last Week: 1 GS, 7.2 IP, 11 Ks, 1 BB, 0.39 ERA
Every minor league season, it seems like there’s one breakout pitcher who blows every hitter away at the plate. So far this season, this pitcher appears to be Mets’ right-hander and our No. 69 prospect, Jonah Tong.
This past week, Tong was tasked with facing the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, the Harrisburg Senators, and he handled them with ease. He struck out 11 batters over 7.2 innings, showcasing some impressive stuff on the mound.
After this start, Tong became the first minor league arm to reach the triple-digit strikeout threshold, an impressive achievement. As he continues to blow away Double-A hitters, it appears his Triple-A promotion could be right around the corner.
High-A Top Performers
Unlike the other levels we’ve covered to this point, the High-A level produced plenty of impressive performances from non-household names. Out of the three players featured in this minor league check-in, none of these players are ranked in our top 100.
However, these players have still put together some of the more impressive performances in the minor leagues last week, and they should be celebrated for their successes.
So, let’s dive into these three players.
Daniel Vasquez, SS, Kansas City Royals
Last Week: 6 G, 24 AB, 12 H, 1 HR, 2 RBI, .500/.556/.750, 1.306 OPS
When thinking about shortstops on the Kansas City Royals, your mind likely jumps straight to Bobby Witt Jr., one of the best players in our sport. However, another shortstop in their system, Daniel Vasquez, looked very good during last week’s competitions.
Over six games, the 21-year-old had hits in exactly half of his at-bats, while also playing sound baseball at the plate overall. In addition to his impressive performance at the plate, Vasquez also showed his wheels on the basepaths, as he took home a stolen base last week.
Vasquez has had a solid season overall, recording a 117 wRC+ so far. If he continues to hit this well, he may make the jump to Double-A shortly.
Chris Suero, C, New York Mets
Last Week: 5 G, 19 AB, 9 H, 2 HR, 8 RBI, .474/.545/.947, 1.492 OPS
When trying to choose offensive players to highlight for the High-A portion of this story, I was impressed with the number of catchers who hit very well last week. The best of these catchers, was Chris Suero, one of the Mets’ brighter offensive stars in the minor leagues.
In addition to his tremendous week at the plate last week, Suero has recorded a wRC+ over 150 this season, which has begun to create some buzz around his name. This buzz has only continued with how he’s played recently.
Similar to a few other players on this list, Suero was named as someone who just missed the Mets’ preseason top 15 prospects ranking. However, after this showing, I don’t expect him to miss the next update.
Eric Yost, SP, San Diego Padres
Last Week: 1 GS, 7 IP, 9 Ks, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
Over the past few seasons, the San Diego Padres have done a very good job of repeatedly developing top prospects left and right. Most of these players, though, have been on the offensive side of things. Despite this, Eric Yost has brought some attention to their pitching development as well.
Out of all the pitchers we highlighted this week, Eric Yost had one of the more dominant single-game performances we had seen. In his start, he struck out nine batters across seven innings, while walking just one batter.
Yost has had a pretty good season overall, as he’s pitched to a 2.43 ERA across 12 starts. With his dominance, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a promotion coming his way soon.
Low-A Top Performers
The final level we’ll cover in this week’s minor league check-in is Low-A. Coincidentally, this level just so happens to have featured arguably some of the best talent and best performances we saw through last week’s games.
One of the three players featured in this portion of the minor league check-in is ranked in our top 100. However, all of them had some of the better performances across the entire Low-A level.
With this in mind, let’s take a closer look at what made these performances so special.
Eduardo Quintero, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers
Last Week: 5 G, 19 AB, 8 H, 1 HR, 4 RBI, .421/.500/.737, 1.237 OPS
In the latest update of our top 100 prospects list, there were a ton of newcomers to the top 100. One of these players was Dodgers outfielder Eduardo Quintero, who has blown away his competition this season in the California League.
Last week, Quintero performed extremely well, as he reached base in half of his at-bats, while also showcasing a decent amount of pop at the plate. He currently leads the California League in homers, as the homer he hit this week put him in first place by two.
As Quintero continues to grow and develop, he’ll be one of the main prospects to watch in the Dodgers’ loaded farm system.
Franyerber Montilla, SS, Detroit Tigers
Last Week: 4 G, 18 AB, 10 H, 2 HR, 8 RBI, .556/.579/.1.056, 1.635 OPS
To put it simply, Tigers shortstop Franyerber Montilla takes the cake for arguably the best performance last week, as his well-rounded toolset wasn’t matched by anyone else in this story.
While Montilla played the least number of games by any player on this list, he was dominant when he was on the field. He had 10 hits in 18 at-bats, while also hitting two homers in the process. Not only this, but Montilla also stole six bases last week!
As Montilla continues to play more games at Low-A, be on the lookout for his development to continue.
Logan McGuire, RHP, Cleveland Guardians
Last Week: 2 G, 0 GS, 5 IP, 10 Ks, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Out of all the players we featured in this edition of the minor league check-in, the only reliever to be featured is RHP Logan McGuire, whose performance was too good to overlook. Relievers often aren’t given the credit they deserve, but it’s hard not to credit McGuire with what he did last week.
In two performances, McGuire appeared in five innings, where he allowed no runs, no walks, and struck out 10 batters. He was truly unhittable, as he also allowed just one hit in this same span.
As I previously mentioned, it’s not often that relievers are given the credit they deserve, but McGuire’s performance last week was too good to ignore.
