Live Look Overview: 2026 WWBA World Championship
These players from the 2027 MLB Draft class provided some useful live looks at the Perfect Game WWBA World Championship.
The 2026 Perfect Game WWBA World Championship brought over 100 teams to Jupiter, Florida, for one of the final major scouting events of the fall.
After several weather delays, East Cobb/SD Padres Scout Team captured the title with an 8-7 comeback victory over SBA/Marlins Scout Team 2028. East Cobb erased a six-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh to win on a walk-off balk.
I spent parts of four days scouting at Roger Dean Complex. Here are six players from the 2027 MLB Draft class who provided some of my most useful live looks, along with other notable performers from the tournament.
Samir Mohammed | RHP | LSU Commit
Tampa Jesuit HS (FL) | USA Prime National/Detroit Tigers Scout Team
Mohammed had one of Jupiter’s strongest pitching performances, striking out 11 over five innings without issuing a walk against the Arizona Diamondbacks Scout Team.
The 6-foot-5 right-hander worked 95-99 mph and reached 100 while throwing 75% of his pitches for strikes. His fastball showed arm-side life, although Arizona managed some hard contact during the outing.
The changeup was the standout offering during my look. Sitting in the mid-80s, it featured late fade and depth that played well off his upper-90s fastball. Mohammed also mixed in a low-to-mid-80s breaking ball with some late vertical life.
He struck out four hitters across his first two innings while working around a pair of doubles. The Diamondbacks Scout Team pushed across two runs in the third, but Mohammed continued to miss bats throughout the outing.
The fastball command still needs refinement, particularly given some of the contact it allowed. His feel for the changeup and ability to fill the zone with this much velocity give him a strong foundation as one of the top prep arms in the class.
Deuce Jenkins | OF/1B | Mississippi State Commit
Jackson Academy (MS) | USA Prime National/Detroit Tigers Scout Team
Jenkins finished Jupiter with five extra-base hits, including two home runs, two doubles and a triple.
The left-handed hitter caught my attention Thursday when he drove a ball into the opposite-field gap. The ball struck high off the left-center-field wall for a triple despite wind appearing to blow in.
Later that afternoon, Jenkins launched a 438-foot home run to the batter’s eye at 102 mph off the bat. I watched him homer again Friday against MVP 2027, sending another ball over the opposite-field fence.
At 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, Jenkins already has substantial strength in his left-handed swing. That power showed up repeatedly with a wood bat in Jupiter.
He also ran a 6.50-second 60-yard dash at PG National, showing more athleticism than his 210-pound frame might suggest. Jenkins has a chance to stick in center field, where his combination of athleticism and left-handed power would make his offensive profile even more valuable.
Demarcus Lowery | OF | Louisville Commit
Knoxville Catholic HS (TN) | East Cobb/SD Padres Scout Team
Lowery opened Monday’s semifinal against Canes National/New York Mets Scout Team with a 404-foot home run to left-center field.
Batting leadoff and playing center field, the right-handed hitter drove the ball out at 102 mph. He also recorded another home run at 103 mph earlier in the tournament.
At 5-foot-11, Lowery generates impressive bat speed without an imposing frame. His quick hands allow him to produce pull-side power, while his ability on the basepaths adds another dimension to the offensive profile.
The Louisville commit previously recorded a 6.62-second 60-yard dash at a Perfect Game showcase.
Lowery’s semifinal home run offered another example of his pull-side power. His ability to produce that kind of contact while playing center field adds to his appeal in the 2027 class.
Max Hemenway | SS | Tennessee Commit
IMG Academy (FL) | Wow Factor/Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team 18U
Hemenway finished Jupiter 4-for-11 with a double and triple across five games, continuing a productive summer at the plate.
He shows an advanced feel for the barrel from the left side, using a compact swing to make consistent contact. His ability to adjust his swing and drive the ball into both gaps gives him an appealing offensive foundation with room for additional power as he develops physically.
During my Friday look against Canes NST, Hemenway worked a walk after showing bunt twice and later reached on a soft fly ball that dropped in front of a diving center fielder.
His defensive ability is another strength. Hemenway displays smooth actions at shortstop with good range and reliable hands. At PG National, he ran a 6.65-second 60-yard dash and recorded an 88 mph throw across the diamond.
Sebastian “Sushi” Wilson | OF | Tennessee Commit
IMG Academy (FL) | Wow Factor/Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team 18U
Wilson showed plenty of offensive strength at PG National, reaching 100 mph in exit velocity. The Tennessee commit has a quick left-handed swing to go with his impressive athletic testing.
During my Friday look against Canes NST, Wilson singled through the right side to advance Max Hemenway into scoring position. He later drove a deep opposite-field fly ball to the left-field warning track despite the wind blowing in.
The 6-foot outfielder also impressed with his athletic testing, recording a 6.36-second 60-yard dash and throwing up to 94 mph from the outfield at PG National.
His speed and arm strength give him a legitimate chance to stick in center field, where his left-handed bat and developing power would make for an appealing offensive profile.
Brady Cunningham | 3B/OF | Texas A&M Commit
Brother Rice HS (IL) | Cangelosi Sparks
Cunningham continued his impressive 2026 campaign in Jupiter, launching a pull-side home run at 106 mph off the bat and showing his two-way ability on the mound. The Texas A&M commit struck out all three hitters he faced in a relief appearance on just 13 pitches. His fastball sat 88-90 mph and touched 91, complemented by a 75-78 mph slider.
During my Saturday look against BPA, Cunningham started in right field and showed his athleticism defensively. He delivered an accurate throw to the cutoff man on a ball hit into the gap and later made a leaping catch in worsening rain conditions to end an inning.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder put together an outstanding summer after hitting .554 with a school-record 17 home runs during his junior season. He added a High School Home Run Derby title and earned recognition as the 2026 Illinois Class 4A Player of the Year.
At PG National, Cunningham ran a 6.45-second 60-yard dash and recorded a 90 mph throw across the infield, impressive athleticism and arm strength for a player listed at 225 pounds.
Other Notable Standouts
Christopher “CJ” Wall | C | Arkansas Commit
Wall capped an outstanding tournament by earning MVP honors and helping East Cobb/SD Padres capture the championship. The left-handed hitter doubled home East Cobb’s first run before delivering a two-run single that tied the game in the seventh. He eventually scored the winning run on a walk-off balk.
Wall also produced a 100 mph three-run triple for a walk-off victory earlier in the tournament and drove another ball off the right-center-field fence at 103 mph. He had already impressed Just Baseball’s scouting staff at East Coast Pro, where his left-handed swing and consistent barrel accuracy stood out.
Jaxson Vassallo | INF | Kennesaw State Commit
Vassallo was one of Jupiter’s biggest offensive surprises, finishing 5-for-12 with three home runs. Two of those were grand slams, including a 393-foot shot during Florida Burn’s elimination victory over FTB Phillies. He also collected a double and triple during a breakout week at the plate.
Elyjah Mason | SS/OF | Oklahoma State Commit
Mason hit .444 across seven games with three doubles and two home runs. Both homers came during a multi-home-run performance on Sunday. The 6-foot-3 left-handed hitter showed considerable power upside while continuing to produce extra-base contact throughout the tournament.
Finnian O’Loughlin | OF | Alabama Commit
O’Loughlin displayed some of the tournament’s loudest power with a 421-foot grand slam that left his bat at 105 mph. He followed with a 99 mph single to left field during Monday’s semifinal against East Cobb, adding another hard-hit ball to a strong offensive showing.
Juan Diaz | SS | Florida Commit
Diaz hit .500 in four games while drawing four walks against just one strikeout. The Hialeah native also ran a 6.18-second 60-yard dash at PG National, the fastest time recorded at the showcase. That speed gives the switch-hitting shortstop another way to affect games beyond his contact ability.
Jake Cueto | OF | Miami Commit
Cueto was another productive Florida prospect in Jupiter, batting .625 with four extra-base hits and four stolen bases. The left-handed hitter drove the ball into both gaps, including an opposite-field triple, while consistently putting pressure on defenses with his speed. His contact ability and athleticism give him an appealing foundation as a potential center fielder.
