Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire: Week of September 14

With just two weeks left to go in the MLB season, it’s almost time to crown a champion in fantasy baseball leagues. If you play in a head-to-head format, your championship matchup is either beginning now or is already underway. In roto, you’re looking to see if you can scrounge up a couple more points in any category you can.

That will be the focus of today’s waiver wire, looking for free agents that can help you in specific categories. Sometimes, one stolen base or one save can be the difference between being in the money or out of it at season’s end.

Andre Pallante, STL SP (14% owned)

2026 Stats: 146 IP, 3.45 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 9.5% K-BB%, 4.28 SIERA

Pallante has been an extreme pitch-to-contact starter all season long but has been exceeding his projections. He has been particularly effective lately, throwing at least five innings while giving up fewer than three runs in six of his last seven starts.

The right-hander lines up for a start against the Giants, who just lost slugger Rafael Devers for the season, this coming week. While he’s not a player I’d be particularly interested in for dynasty formats, Pallante is one of the stronger streaming options available this week.

Henry Bolte, ATH OF (12% owned)

2026 Stats: 420 PA, .275/.359/.398, 10 HR, 20 SB, 109 wRC+

It wasn’t a guarantee that Bolte would contribute to the major league roster entering this season, but injuries have given him a shot to entrench himself as a big part of the A’s future moving forward. He’s tooled out — great bat speed, great sprint speed, and exciting defensive capabilities.

Bolte could contribute to any category, but since the Athletics play exclusively on the road this week, he’s most likely to contribute by stealing bases. He’s an interesting player moving forward in dynasty formats and can give your team an added threat on the basepaths to close out this season.

Kodai Senga, NYM SP, RP (11% owned)

2026 Stats: 58 IP, 7 SV, 7.14 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, 11.4% K-BB%, 4.50 SIERA

If you’re looking for saves on the waiver wire right now, the options aren’t great. Senga is holding down the Mets’ closer role, which I would prefer to owning Ben Joyce of the Angels or trying to solve a closer committee with two weeks remaining in the season.

Senga has earned three saves in the past two weeks, throwing scoreless outings in 11 of his 14 relief appearances since moving to a single-inning role. The righty struggled as a starter but has great stuff that has played up in the bullpen. Senga is as good a bet for a save as anyone right now.

Coby Mayo, BAL 1B, 3B (10% owned)

2026 Stats: 407 PA, .224/.290/.464, 23 HR, 3 SB, 110 wRC+

Following a slow start to the season, Mayo has been a great option for power in the second half. He’s up to 23 long balls on the season, four of which came last week. With Jordan Westburg and Blaze Alexander out, Mayo has been given a long runway to find himself at the plate, which appears to be paying off.

Mayo has been particularly valuable as a lefty-masher, slashing .321/.384/.737 against southpaws. Baltimore projects to face a left-handed starter in three of its six games this week, making Mayo a good bet to add to his home run total soon.

Cristian Javier, HOU SP (3% owned)

2026 Stats: 55.2 IP, 5.50 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, 13.2% K-BB%, 4.41 SIERA

Javier has spent a lot of time on the injured list over the past three seasons and has struggled when healthy. While he may never return to the heights of his three-win 2022 season, he has been pitching better of late and could be a top streamer this week.

After allowing just two runs on four hits and striking out 13 over his last two starts, Javier lines up to face the Royals this week. While Kansas City has some quality bats in Bobby Witt Jr. and Jac Caglianone, their lineup as a whole is weak. Javier could be a good bet for a win and some strikeouts in his next outing.
